An interior garden at Chateau LaRoche (aka Loveland Castle) in Loveland Ohio.
This "medieval" castle was entirely built by hand by a single man, Sir Harry Andrews (a Boy Scout leader), starting in the late 1920's. It was completed in the 1950s. Andrews died in 1981 (at age 91) and left the castle to the Knights of the Golden Trail (KOGT), his Boy Scout Troop.
On the wall in the back right corner, where the stone is sort of chipped away, you're supposed to be able to see an angel.
Visited the castle on Saturday, May 30th, 2009.
One of the Knights told us about a medieval festival that goes on there every second Saturday of each month, kind of like Medieval Times. It's only $3.00 to get into the festival, which isn't a bad price, since that's their regular price of admission.
